Emirates First Officer - Direct Entry

Requirements for a Emirates First Officer are as follows:
- Hold a valid ICAO ATPL
- Fluent in the English language (ICAO English level 4 or above)
- Must be current within 12 months of joining
- Type Rating (TR) highly regarded

Flying requirements:
- A minimum of 4000 hours total flying time
- A minimum of 2000 hours multi-crew, multi-engine jet aircraft

- A minimum of 2500 hours total flying time on a commerical ME, multi-crew aircraft jet

Jetstar Ab Initio Program - CAE Oxford

The Jetstar Ab Initio Cadet Program is conducted by CAE Oxford Aviation Academy and Swinburne University of Technology. The course includes a Type Rating endorsement on the Airbus A320.


Requirements:

- Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Aged over 17 years on commencement of training
- Satisfactory completion of the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or its equivalent, with the following subjects forming the prerequisites for the course; VCE Units 3 & 4 - a study score of at least 20 in English (any) and Further Mathematics. Passes may be accumulated over more than one year.

Virgin Australia Cadet Program 2013 - Australia

NEXT INTAKE PLANNED FOR MID-2013

Last year saw Virgin Australia launch its ab initio cadetship in partnership with regional airline Skywest. The first intake consisted of eight cadets to be trained by Flight Training Australia (FTA) at Parafield airport, South Australia. Upon successful completion of the program, the cadets will commence employment as First Officers in the ATR-72.

Requirements:

- Successful completion of Year 12 with solid results in English, Maths and Science
- Minimal flying hours
